Rules
The whole mechanic, written down. There is nothing else running underneath it.
- 01
Rank is cumulative spend
Every payment against a URL adds to that URL's lifetime total. The board sorts on that total, highest first. Nothing decays and nothing expires.
- 02
The floor is $1
That is the least you can pay in a single move, and it is enough to enter an empty board at #1.
- 03
Passing someone costs $1 more than they have
To sit above an entry you must end up strictly ahead of it. The Outbid button on each row already does that arithmetic for you, and the amount is re-checked server-side at checkout in case the board moved while you were typing.
- 04
Ties go to whoever arrived first
Two entries on the same total are ordered by their most recent payment, oldest first. Coming back later never costs you a tie you already won.
- 05
One row per URL
URLs are normalised before they are stored: scheme, www, trailing slashes, letter case and tracking parameters are stripped. yoursite.com and https://www.YourSite.com/?utm_source=x are the same row.
- 06
Clicks are counted, not sold
Outbound clicks route through a redirect so they can be tallied. The trending list is ordered purely on that count over the last 24 hours and cannot be paid for.
- 07
Sponsor slots are separate
The six rail cards are fixed-price and run for 30 days. They do not touch your leaderboard position, and holding one does not put you on the board.
- 08
Payments are final
Bids are non-refundable. Positions can be taken from you by anyone willing to pay more, which is the entire point.
- 09
Entries can be removed
Anything illegal, malicious, sexual, or impersonating someone else gets pulled without a refund. Broken links get pulled too.
